And So Agents of Everything Begins...
Hello good people - welcome to my substack, which I have titled Agents of Everything… but why?
If you already know of me you probably know me either as a hypnotist/hypnosis trainer (check out my book Hypnosis Without Trance: How Hypnosis Really Works) or as an ‘agent of change’ (coach, changeworker etc.). Whilst these guises do reflect the bulk of my professional work for the last 15 or so years, they are most certainly not really who I am!
The truth is, I have been feeling stifled and boxed in for a while now by my own unchallenged beliefs about who I ‘should’ be professionally along with how I ‘should’ be showing up in the world… and it’s kinda been killing my mojo! This has lead me of late to take a long hard look at where I’m at and where I’m headed which, in turn, has further lead me to something of a reconnection with my source (and also, perhaps, my sauce).
I became a professional change agent in 2006, initially founded 100% in neurolinguistics (AKA NLP, but I’m not a fan of that term), but I didn’t get into NLP to become an agent of change in an office (or on Zoom), but instead to become an agent of change in the world. Put another way, my initial interest was in upping my game as the primary difference maker in my own life - upping my agency in relation to everything I wished to engage with.
This new substack is about a reconnection with this. My desire is that it becomes a central hub for a conversation about personal agency and sovereignty, difference making, sensemaking, effective communication, collective consciousness and more.
From my end I will be engaging in this conversation from where I come from - neurolinguistics, hypnosis, change work and pragmatic philosophy/sensemaking etc. Where the conversation goes, however, remains to be seen.
If you have an interest in neurolinguistics, hypnotic communication, effective change catalysis and increasing personal efficacy, you will likely find much here to your taste. But there will also be conversation on what’s unfolding in the broader world along with how we might meet and create with that as individuals and collectives.
Please do subscribe, and do feel free to share your thoughts or requests regarding what you would like to see explored in either my writings here of via the Agents of Everything podcast.
