I completely resonate with the central message of your podcast, especially the stoic elements. Based on my personal encounters, most individuals grasp the essence you're conveying, even if they can articulate it more eloquently than I ever could. However, it often takes a profound impact, like a metaphorical "golden" brick hitting them, to truly motivate the desperate change they desire. I'm curious about your approach to facilitating their transition from mere intellectual acceptance to a profound "felt-experience" (let's call it the golden brick) that reshapes their perception of reality, aligning with their already chosen intellectual path.

The answer to that is going to depend on context AND where the person is already at!

That said, it is always going to involve a more 'hypnotic' (though conversational) approach rather than an information based approach.

I don't know how familiar you are with my teachings on hypnotic facilitation, but I could possibly do an episode on the topic here on AoE.

As a teenager, I had numerous intense and prolonged experiences of 'déjà vu' that left a profound impact on me. They felt so vivid and authentic that I wholeheartedly believed in their reality - until the day my teacher openly read an essay, I had written about one of these events. In the aftermath, I cannot recall feeling any emotional pain from the incident, nor did I face any mockery or bullying. However, the world of 'déjà vu' was irreversibly destroyed. Although I wasn't particularly thrilled about this, I now acknowledge, that the teacher possessed a unique ability akin to hypnosis to instantaneously reshape my reality without my conscious awareness at that time. This episode sparked a deep fascination for the realms of hypnosis, nlp and related concepts. Nonetheless, I must confess that a lingering association with ‘manipulation’ restrained me for a long time. With your exceptional book, 'Hypnosis Without Trance,' I started to collect some tools to address this self-limiting belief system. Nevertheless, I am still on a quest to find that profound and authentic inner transformation, similar to the one I experienced. If you could provide further insights and delve into the conversational approaches within the AoE concept it would be immensely appreciated.

Hi Andre - this is a BIG topic, but if you have a specific question it might help me to focus in!

Hi James,Describing my focus precisely with words isn't a straightforward task, but I'll do my best. I've experimented with various self-transformation methods and distilled the ones that yield results. While I've managed to initiate significant changes, I've always encountered difficulties with what NLP practitioners refer to as an "ecology check" – both for myself and for others. I suspect that my associations and fears related to 'manipulation' are deeply rooted in the conflict between reshaping a "naturally occurring yet limiting behavior" into something that surpasses these limitations, consequently giving rise to unforeseen and unpredictable outcomes. I haven't come across an effective "ecology check" that can reliably determine if the intervention has elevated a substantial aspect of one's personality to a new level of engagement with internal and external realities, resulting in sustainable lifestyle changes. Conversely, there have been instances where the body has resisted, leading to unusual symptoms or hindrances that hindered the individual from pursuing the pre-validated direction following an "ecology check." These symptoms or obstacles often seem directly linked to the core concept or central idea of the intended transformation. This can be interpreted as a negative outcome from an "ecology check," and these experiences have reinforced my unfavorable perception of 'manipulation' in relation to potent personality transformation techniques. In short, is there a way you could provide insights in this realm within the context of AoE?

I second that! And maybe, James, you can talk a little bit about dialogic facilitation and complex systems approach?

I like your metaphor about playing with clay and accepting the fact that it is clay. I find that there is a lot of denial of reality right now, people wanting to access the "5th dimension" and not being grounded in living their lives here on Planet Earth, facing human challenges.

Ah! I think we might be quite in tune in that one - truly being in the world rather than trying to transcend it!

I remember some 20 years ago, there was a similar movement. One had to do special "exercises" to tune one's DNA to the 5th dimension. I just did a short video about things going in cycles. It's coming back. In a weekend or a week retreat or a 9-month coaching program, the promoter (getting millions from desperate people) will get you to meet Jesus/Buddha... and become enlightened like them. Meanwhile, the world is going to hell in a hand basket. I find making sense of this delusion quite challenging.

That's great to hear, Robert! (Organizational change is an area of great interest to me, but one I've never found my way into professionally)

Another great episode. Also, thanks for mentioning about “Awakening your true self” by Andrew Daniel in this episode. I bought this book earlier today and I’m absolutely loving it so far!

It is a rich book indeed - a lot of it reminds me of what I learned from Steve Chandler (I am wondering if Andrew knows Steve!)

James, I was wrong... this book isn’t simply „an inteesting page turner”. It’s fenomenal! Its content messes up with my mind so much, I’m not sure how and who I’ll be once I have finished reading it 🤯
