I had 2 clients who were black belts, one in Aikido, the other in Karate. Great teachers, yet, they had not thought about bringing their black belt confidence in other areas of their lives. We changed that.
Hi, James. In this episode you speak about everyone's different ‘selves’. On the surface, this sounds like "parts". There are so many different models of this: Parts Work, Resource Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Ego-State Therapy, etc. Is this what you are talking about, using a different nomenclature? Or, do you mean something completely different?
Different selves, different parts, different trances, different ego states... I think these are all pointing to the same 'truth'. Ans they are all ways of talking/thinking about a more complex reality. I use different metaphors (or no metaphors explicitly) when working with clients, but personally I tend to think in terms of 'trances' or 'selves' in the main.

It would be interesting to see the original post with your thoughts on it, James 🙂
